I use this projector as my living room TV. It provides 100+ inches of HD quality picture, and hooks up easily into a cable/satellite set top box. It has normal component inputs for HDMI and digital audio. The fan is noisy by default, but you can turn the bulbs to a lower setting and this slows down the fan and prolongs bulb life.
Keep in mind that you'll probably want some sort of a home theater receiver that can handle multuple video and sound inputs. The projector only has inputs for one video input (2 if you count the additional HDMI). You need some kind of external speakers.
